The Consumer Advocate is located within the Iowa Insurance Division. The Consumer Advocate can assist consumers in the areas of insurance, securities, and regulated industries. In conjunction with other areas of the Insurance Division, the goal of the Consumer Advocate is to achieve the consumers' best interests pursued through policy, outreach, complaint assistance, and administrative actions.

Federal Healthcare Reform

Congress has passed legislation for health insurance that will affect all Iowans. The law is currently being reviewed by the Iowa Insurance Division. The Division will be working to bring the state of Iowa into compliance with the new federal requirements as efficiently and effectively as practically possible.
